It's a Recirculating Textile Packed Bed Reactor!
The AdvanTex® treatment plant is based on a tried and true process for treating wastewater with many modern enhancements to improve the stability, performance and ease of maintenance and installation. It is a Recirculating Packed Bed Reactor process with a carefully engineered textile as the fixed medium for growing the organisms that treat the wastewater. This simple process is passive, requiring no aerator to populate the textile with a film of naturally occurring organisms at normal at natural population levels.

From House to Garden!
Wastewater from the house flows in to the first chamber of the tank for primary treatment.
The liquid in the second chamber is largely free of solids and has to pass through the Biotube® Effluent Filter in the Screened Pump Vault before being pumped on to the textile treatment pod.
The small dose of liquid sprayed onto the top of the textile flows through the sheets of hanging textile. The organisms that populate the textile treat the liquid as it slowly percolates through.
The splitter valve allows some of the treated liquid from the textile pod to fall back in to the first or second chamber (depending on the level of nutrient removal required). Some of it (about 20%) will flow to a treated effluent tank for pumping to irrigation lines generally.
The control panel provides timer control for the dosing pump, making sure each dose onto the textile pod is small and regular.
The Secret is in the Textile!
The AdvanTex® treatment pod contains the textile and effluent distribution manifold. It simply requires an inlet and an outlet to be connected! The pod has a sealable lid that stops rain and groundwater from entering the system. This textile is hanging in the AdvanTex® filter pod on top of the processing tank. A visible biological film develops on the textile in a few days.Wastewater is sprayed over this textile in controlled amounts at carefully chosen time intervals. The wastewater percolates through the textile and is clear and odourless when it is reaches the floor of the pod and flows to the splitter valve.
The AdvanTex® is a recirculating process, with the flow going over the textile several times before being collected for dispersal to the ground. This increases the stability and treatment level including nitrogen. It produces effluent exceeding Secondary Treatment Standards, even under changing conditions and peak flows. Treatment of wastewater occurs almost immediately the AdvanTex® is turned on, making it one of the best treatment processes for holiday homes and other intermittent wastewater flows. The effluent is consistently so clean that it is often used to water gardens and lawns through inconspicuous drip or subsurface irrigation lines.
Installation is quick and simple!
The entire system is buried, with only the pod lids and tank access lids visible at ground level once finished. The control panel can provide an audio-visual alert for high and low level situations in the tanks.Fuzzy logic built-in to the panels allows the system to automatically compensate for periods of excessive flow and recuperates automatically. The panels may also provide a remote telemetry function for access to the system and logs of alerts and pump run times via the internet. This simplifies the job of the service provider. The homeowner's life is even simpler!
